The moment you settle into one of the simple yet comfortable booths, the rich aroma of simmering broths hits you, promising a bowl of authentic pho that lives up to its name. The menu is straightforward but thoughtfully curated, offering a variety of beef, chicken, and vegetarian pho options, each crafted with a delicate balance of spices and herbs that makes every sip of the broth feel both warming and deeply satisfying. The beef pho, in particular, is a standout, with tender slices of perfectly cooked meat floating atop a flavorful, slow-cooked broth, complemented by fresh garnishes like crisp bean sprouts, fragrant basil, and a squeeze of lime that elevate the flavors without overpowering them.

Beyond the pho, the restaurant surprises with small plates and side dishes that pair beautifully with the main offerings. Crispy spring rolls and savory banh mi sandwiches provide a satisfying textural contrast, while the chili sauce and hoisin add just the right kick for those who like a touch of heat. The service is friendly and attentive, with staff who are genuinely happy to guide you through the menu, suggesting combinations and sharing little tips on how to enhance your bowl with their fresh herbs and condiments. Despite its casual setting, Pho Bo manages to feel vibrant and welcoming, with a steady stream of locals and visitors alike, which is always a reassuring sign of a place doing something right.

What People's Say About Place

The foods were good, and the portion was very good for most people. I will strongly recommend for pho with soup, those were really good. The beef stew with bread was really special and rarely served in most of the Vietnamese restaurants. The restaurant could have some sudden noises from kitchen or front desk because the chef had to prepare something for cooking.

Pho Bo is easily one of my favorite spots in the city. The food is amazing, the staff is very friendly, and the place is really clean. I love the broth here, it's so flavorful and well seasoned you can really taste the work put into this broth. I am an avid pho eater and I can confidently say this place got some of the best pho. There's great variety with over 41 items on the menu, I almost always get the pho bo dac it never disappoints. I bring my group of friends (around 6 or 7 people) here to eat often. HIGHLY recommend this place it's just sooooo GOOD. Shoutout Andy at the front sometimes he gives my son Robux whenever I bring my family here to eat.

This place was so good, it’s up there now as one of my favorite pho’s. I got the chicken pho, the chicken pieces in there were perfect without any fat or hard grizzly bits. Their broth has really good flavor, seasoned well. I also tried their chicken banh mi and the bread was perfect, the chicken was seasoned well and it was overall very satisfying.

Decent Pho and Vietnamese option in proximity to downtown. I ordered their house special beef pho that comes with multiple different cuts of meat. Broth and meat quality was decent but I’ve had better. Staff were friendly, attentive, and no wait. Good prices for the quantity of food received. Relatively easy parking.

Went to this restaurant on a whim before a Padres game. Really good portions and really good meat quality; probably some of the most tender beef I've had at a pho restaurant. Decently priced for what they're giving you.

If you love viet food/pho the portions are huge and delicious! Du ma. Very spacious inside, easy free parking as well

This bowl is P2, has alot of meats and it taste good. This place is a hidden gem for vietnamese food! The fact I finished all speaks volume how good their phở is!!!

So happy I discovered Pho Bò!!! Previously this general area had zero good Vietnamese food and just in general in San Diego it’s slim pickings. But I’m thrilled this restaurant is here and happy to see its run by a Vietnamese family. The pho broth was incredibly flavorful and surprised me at how good it was upon first sip. The well done steak was super tender and fresh which was also shocking because usually when I order this at other pho restaurants it’s super dry and chewy but not this one. Rice noodles I would say was average. The service was very fast and friendly. Not many people eating inside but lots of people picking up to go orders. The pho was ~$15 which is average. I also got the chicken gyoza just to try it out and that was decent. I’ll for sure be back to try more. Great menu selection!
